Traditional design is largely influenced by European architecture, it is packed full of architectural elements ranging from coffered, vaulted and recessed ceilings, to wall paneling, crown moldings and carved wood doors, crystal sconces and chandeliers to original sculptures and oil paintings, all working in harmony to bring interest and warmth to the palette. It usually incorporates more ornately designed window treatments made from luxurious materials such as silk, velvet, brocades and damasks featuring multiple decorative trims. We see antique carved wood furniture from a vast number of periods; French, English and Asian. Flooring consists of mostly hardwood, stone or marble and serves as the ground upon which we see beautiful Persian and Oriental designed rugs.

So As you can see there is much more to designing and decorating a traditional style interior than meets the eye. Since 1974, Susan Lachance Interior Design has been catering to the discerning tastes of her clientele who expect nothing short of a full-service decorating and a design firm that can deliver as promised.
